A MoU signing ceremony between UTMSPACE and National Institute of Business Management (NIBM) Sri Lanka was held on 28th August 2017 at Sultan Ibrahim Chancellery Building, UTM Johor Bahru.

Mr. Chandima Weerakkody , Minister of Skills Development & Vocational Training of Sri Lanka and Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohd Azraai Kassim, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, UTMSPACE had signed on behalf of their respective institutions. The ceremony jointly witnessed by Ms.Sudharma Karunaratne, Chairman, and Dr. D.M.A.Kulasooriya Director General, National Institute of Business Management (NIBM); and Prof. Dr. Azlan Bin Abdul Rahman, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Development), UTM.

The main objectives of its establishments are to provide Business Management Education and Training, Consultancy and Advisory Services, and to facilitate the improvement of productivity. NIBM has four campuses which are in Colombo, Kandy, Kurunagala, Galle and Matara.

As a start, NIBM is looking forward to offer UTM Engineering undergraduate programs and MBA. UTM is also in the process of identifying potential institutional partners to collaborate in its transnational education (TNE) initiatives.
