National Institute of Business Management (NIBM) was established in 1968 under the purview of the Ministry of Industries and Scientific Affairs, in collaboration with the United Nations Development Program, as an agency for implementing the ILO’s programs. It was subsequently incorporated in 1976 as the National Institute of Business Management by an Act of Parliament. NIBM Director General, Dr.D.M.A Kulasooriya, received the UTMSPACE visit to NIBM, which currently has 8 campuses throughout Sri Lanka.

He would like UTMSPACE and NIBM to collaborate reciprocally by focusing on staff and student mobility. The students or staff will spend a minimum of one week attending classes; and cultural and educational visits to expose them to the local culture.
