UTMSPACE and HKU SPACE Forge Strategic Partnership in Executive Education and Micro-Credentials

On 13 April 2026, UTMSPACE, the lifelong learning arm of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with HKU SPACE, a leading continuing education provider under The University of Hong Kong, which records nearly 90,000 annual course enrolments, serves more than 23,000 students, and offers almost 1,000 courses across a wide range of disciplines.

The MoU establishes a strategic collaboration focusing on the development and delivery of Executive Education, Professional Programs, and Micro-Credentials, aimed at supporting lifelong learning and workforce upskilling in a rapidly evolving global landscape.

Through this partnership, both institutions will explore a range of collaborative initiatives, including the co-development of executive and professional programmes, joint certification courses, and flexible micro-credential offerings that are stackable and industry-relevant. These initiatives are designed to cater to working professionals, industry practitioners, and adult learners seeking to enhance their competencies and remain competitive in the job market.

In addition, the collaboration will facilitate knowledge exchange activities, such as guest lectures, joint workshops, and webinars, as well as potential faculty collaboration and cross-border programme delivery. Both parties also intend to share best practices in continuing education, digital learning innovation, and curriculum design.

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to advancing flexible, accessible, and globally relevant education pathways, while strengthening regional and international cooperation in professional and continuing education.
